Talk #1 – “The Art of Preaching Through Pain”

In the fast-paced life of bi-vocational pastors and church planters, time constraints and pressure can get the best of us all. Having a framework that makes the preacher focused and able to deliver in the primary role of preaching is critical. Preachers need a system and a structure that keeps them focused while everything around them may be on fire. The Art of Preaching Through Pain will equip preachers to preach with passion, power, and polish in spite of personal and professional problems that occur.

This talk focuses on three primary deliverables:

  • The Art of Preaching Through Pain Talk will enable preachers to apply the PREACH framework for delivering focused messages each week.
  • The Art of Preaching Through Pain Talk will assist preachers in overcoming obstacles that occur before, during, and even after a preaching assignment.
  • The Art of Preaching Through Pain Talk will highlight the benefits of utilizing the PREACH framework for weekly sermon preparation.

Talk #2 – “Obtaining and Maintaining Success in Ministry, Marriage and the Marketplace”

Bi-vocational pastors wear many hats in both organizations in which they serve. Add on top of that the stress that comes with maintaining a healthy marriage and family while helping everyone else manage theirs and you will quickly find the perfect storm for burnout, depression, and quick existence from the ministry. In his talk on Obtaining and Maintaining Success in Ministry, Marriage, and the Marketplace Pastor James shares insight and strategies that allow preachers and pastors to obtain and maintain success in all three facets of their life.

This talk focuses on three primary deliverables:

  • Pastors will leave the session with practical strategies for managing ministry, marriage, and the marketplace that they can immediately implement.
  • Pastors will leave the session with a plan for involving their spouses and children in the ministry so that they will embrace and not resent the ministry.
  • Pastors will leave the session with 2 – 3 strategies for infusing ministry into their marketplace assignments that fall within the established policies and procedures of most corporations.

Talk #3 - “Preparing the Plan for Church Planting”

As a church planter, there is nothing more exciting than receiving the call to establish a new church or ministry in a city in which God has given you a heart and a passion for. The many ideas and possibilities of reaching a city or area for God can be endless. Knowing the purpose and having the passion for a new church or ministry is vital to the success of a work, however, many church planters have the passion and know their purpose but need assistance with the plan. In his talk on preparing the plan for church planting, Pastor James provides insight and strategy for a successful church plant with minimal stress.

This talk focuses on three primary deliverables:

  • By the end of this talk church planters will have a resource list of essential elements for successful church planting.
  • By the end of this talk church planters will be able to identify and avoid the top 10 critical mistakes made by first-time church planters.
  • By the end of this talk church planters will know the 7 steps for successful church planting.
